Preperation for laying a new lawn
Remove any existing grass, weeds, stones etc down to the bare soil.
Rake the area as level and smooth as possible, if needed, screened topsoil can help to get the required finish.
When laying the turf, work backwards to avoid walking over what you have laid, working off boards can be helpful.
Lay whole pieces of turf on the outside edge of the area, any smaller cuts if needed need to be towards the inside as the smaller the piece of turf the quicker it will dry out. Lay turf as you would lay bricks (staggering joins).
For best results, put a board on turf and walk on it or use a roller.
Start watering turf straight away.
